Originating from the southern Great Plains, this native plant was brought into cultivation by James Locklear and later championed by Bluebird Nursery in Clarkson, Nebraska. Its silver foliage beautifully accentuates the vibrant yellow blooms, which grace the plant from May until the onset of frost. Thriving in arid conditions, it is a resilient perennial ideal for xeriscaping.
