Product Description
In the 1880's while working in the greenhouses at Iowa State University, William "Ped" Kintzley discovered this unusual specimen. He propagated it himself and gave plants as gifts to family members across the country. In 2001, it was discovered in the front yard of a Kintzley descendant residing in Fort Collins Colorado. It was further propagated by Plant Select®, a collaboration between Colorado State University, The Denver Botanic Gardens and partner growers.
An amazingly hardy selection with multiple points of interest. In June, the vine is coated with showy, tubular yellow flowers that are not fragrant like other varieties of the species. The lack in fragrance is made up in foliage color. The flowers are surrounded by large perfectly silvery-white bracts that hold their color all summer and into fall.
