Golden Japanese Forest Grass

This variegated forest grass has soft, gracefully arching bright yellow blades with fine green stripes. A creeper, but not invasive, it grows in the shade, illuminating darker areas of the garden with golden color, complementing the foliage of many darker-leafed plants. The variegation and color of the leaves vary according to climate and light, from lime green in the shade to ranges of light yellow to bright yellow in the sun. Foliage develops pink/ red tints in the fall. Works as a groundcover, borders or in containers. Perennial Plant of the Year for 2009.
