This grass, sometimes called Flame Grass or Purple Flame Grass, has a columnar habit and provides outstanding foliage year-round. Slightly gray-green leaves develop reddish-purple hues as the summer progresses and turn brilliant red-orange in the fall and into the winter. Bright silky flower plumes emerge bronze as they rise above the foliage, becoming silvery-pink as they age. This grass is a great background or accent plant, a focal point for any landscape.
