Zebra Japanese Silver Grass (Maiden Grass-Miscanthus)

Zebra is a clump-forming grass noted for its zebra-striped golden yellow bands that extend horizontally across the blades at irregular intervals. The 4-6 ft clumps are rounded, tend to flop and often need support. Pinkish copper-tinted plumes rise above the foliage an additional 1-2 ft, gradually turning silvery-white. Foliage gradually fades to tan after frost. Both foliage and plumes persist well into winter. Cut back before new growth begins in the spring.
