Heavy Metal Switch Grass

Stiff, metallic-blue blades set this switch grass apart from the others. It is a very vigorous, strong growing perennial grass whose foliage grows tightly and vertically; it won't flop over, even under snow. Makes an excellent colorful accent in summer because of its intense blue color and dense buff-brown flower clusters held above the foliage. Leaves turn a gold-orange in autumn. Cut back before new growth appears in the spring.
