Product Description

Northwind is tall with olive-green to bluish-green, almost stiff, upright foliage, forming one of the best vertical habits of switch grass available. The compact, narrow 4-5 ft clump is topped in late summer by finely-textured, yellow flower plumes that rise about 2 ft above the blades. Plumes turn beige and foliage turns yellow-beige, providing good winter interest, holding up well even under snow. Adaptable to wetter areas transitioning from wooded to boggy. Makes a good accent or screen. Cut back before new growth appears in the spring.
Hardy to -30°F
maximum Elevation: 6,000 ft.
