| Description | A beautiful vine with magenta-red, 4" flowers and gold stamens, this clematis is taller than many and will cover a large trellis or grow up through a sizable shrub. Expect blooms to appear sparsely from June - July, with masses of flowers from August through October. Plant clematis where the roots can stay cool, while the vine receives full sun. Prune in late winter or early spring to just above developing buds. The first blooming takes place on last year's growth while the second flush comes on current year's growth. Mature Height: 10-12 ft. Hardy to -40°F Maximum Elevation: 7,500 ft. |
